Psychology professor Sepideh Sadaghiani is one of 6 people appointed as LEAP Scholars by the College of Letters and Science (LAS). The award recognizes early career scholars that show potential to become leaders in their fields.
Nominees are evaluated on scholarly productivity and contributions to the educational mission of their departments and the College of LAS. Winners of the award retain the title of LEAP Scholar for a period of 2 years and receive discretionary research funding to enhance scholarly activities.
Professor Sadaghiani's work focuses on how the brain coordinates activity to engage in cognitive control functions, including how fluctuations in large-scale network activity affects behavior. She has received grants from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes (NINDS), the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).
